With new suspension fitted and fuel tank near full it was time to burn some diesel in the best way possible, a cold and quick overnight stay at Sofala. The requirement being to get the tank down to at least quarter full as the new tank was being fitted in a weeks time!
More on the fuel tank situation in a later post, but my advice to anyone looking at a long range fuel tank; do not, I repeat DO NOT waste your time or money with Ironman 4×4, their products and warranty are not worth the printer ink wasted on an invoice.
Back onto mildly better things, a stop off at the Blackheath fisho and BWS Lithgow for a source of comfort.

Next stop Sofala!

Settling in for the chilly early winters night with solid fuel fire and port. The only thing missing was some good banter around the fire, though when camping solo this occurs quietly in ones mind 😂

As the clouds cleared and the temperature dropped it was time to head up into the roof top tent for some well deserved sleep…

Thankfully the clouds remained at bay and the morning sun brought with it some warmth which is always a winning formula when wanting to dry out the tent pre pack.
I also got to try out the new coffee grinder.

After a swiftly completing the packup I made my way to Portland and met a mate for a short fishing session at Milpond.

With the weather starting to turn, it was time to pull up stumps and head back to the big apple where I’m glad to report the original mission of quarter tank was successsful!
