I was woken by the wildest storm at 4am, quickly zipping the roof top tent windows to stop the sideways rain entering I prayed the awning I’d left set up wasn’t going to suffer the awkward fate of being flipped over itself.
I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of such a fierce storm in the roof top tent, it was certainly an experience and the feeling of being blown over occurred more than a few times!
Somehow I managed to get back to sleep and woke to freezing cold calmness at around 7.30am.

Getting up from under the warm covers was a challenge though once I made it down the ladder I was pleasantly surprised to see everything still in one piece. The awning only tied down with guy ropes to stop water pooling really stood the test of time, a testament to Bushwakka. I’ve had it erect in some pretty harsh conditions and it has held up very well.
After breakfast and a morning coffee I gave the firepit a thorough clean, the remaining coal had combined with the rain to form a black sludge!

Brad sent a message saying it was snowing at Shooters Hill which prompted a very hasty pack. I met him at Portland and we made our way toward Oberon.
Unfortunately by the time we arrived the temperature had gone from minus digits to fluctuating from 0 to 2 degree.
We’d just missed it!
After heading to a familiar spot we decided to call it a day.

And for me, it was an end to another awesome camp 🙂
