The Clyde River meanders through all sorts of terrain such as the bushy banks seen here or green lively pastoral land right up to its upper reaches.
Should this be in grey scale? Late afternoon clouds and bad weather in the Australian countryside.
Curves anyone?

Its been a while To make up for my lack of updates since last December I have added three new photos. The last update was focused around my new job and fishing, and to be honest thats all that life has been about in a round-a-bout kind of way! |
Travel Whore Its been a crazy time for me for the last couple of months, the most accurate word to describe this is "travel whore". I feel as though I am the travelling whore who goes to town for a few days and then ventures off to another town for the next few days and so on and so on.... not knowing when I will be back home and for how long I will be back home for! I have been shuffling between NSW, Vic and Qld throughout the last couple of months, I have spent time in rural Vic and Qld - which isnt all that bad, but I wish I brought my fishing rod on one occassion as there was a really nice lake to fish in! I got a chance to do a 40 minute fish in a lake at Marysville in Victoria the other week which proved to be unsuccessful even though the lake was stocked last november. All in all its been a crazy time and by the time I finish work the last thing I want to do is look at a computer screen - hence the slow, well non existant updates. Seeing as I am using less and less of FreeBSD I am planning on make a FreeBSD repository on shintara.org that will help me (and you) with issues and how to make things work on the operating system. This is a long shot at the moment but I would really like to make it happen! |
Fishing I was looking forward to spending this afternoon at Wentworth Falls Lake doing some fly fishing, but the weather seems to have done a turn around from what it was like this morning, late showers and quite violent winds (well not so violent, but enough to scare me from fly fishing!). So I took the time out to clean my Bourke and Wills swag out and wash the trusty Landcruiser. I have been doing quite a bit of reading on freshwater, mainly trout fishing and it saddens me to read about the state of our freshwater rivers, mainly in the NSW Central Highlands, a few years ago these rivers were prime fishing spots for all sorts of freshwater species. The drought, a carp plague and moron fisherpeople who dont catch and release have really killed off what is a great part of our fishing culture. I cant work out what it is that when people catch ten fish they keep them - do they eat ten fish? This behaviour kills our water systems and runs them dry of healthy fish! An article in the current Freshwater Fishing which still gives hopes and even mentions my favourite fishing ground, the Turon River. To quote "In central western New South Wales the trout do it hard, but those that survive provide a tough challenge for anglers." I suppose persistance does pay off! |
