Overlooking the harbour at night is the view the people who live here get. A warm saturday night, doors and windows are open to let the warm sea breeze into thier homes accompanied with the reflections of the city lights.

I was in the far right lane of Old Windsor Rd (which is 3 lanes) and there was a red Nissan Pulsar in the middle lane, who in the traffic decided to try and make a dash for it in front of me. Well the pulsar started pulling out, then stopped half way into my lane, so I slammed my brakes just as any normal everyday Sunday driver would and tried to veer past the Pulsar without making contact. Unfortunatly this was not the case as my car started skidding, I braced myself for the big knock... I heard the bang sound but didnt feel the knock. I looked in my rear vision mirror to see a quite well damaged Nissan Pulsar.
Parking on the median strip I inspected my vehicle, the steel bull bar had a few scratches and my tyre had some aswell, a few scratches on the body work but that was all - moral of the story is a steel bull bar always wins! The driver of the Pulsar approached me, without even making an apology he said "lets settle this here, I will give you $50 or $100 and we wont take it further". After taking his details I find that its not his vehicle, its his friends and he doesnt have an Australian drivers licence, he is licensed to drive in India.
I didnt take his offer of the money as I couldnt inspect my vehicle as well as I could have, so now I will leave it up to the panel beater to do that!
The controversy is over After tossing, turning, thinking and rethinking I decided to place the last weeks write up on 'Rock Against Howard' on shintara.net. I make no apologies for what I did write as this is the way I feel, I am not an extremist or anything as such, but I feel that for future experience and reference that type of expression and opinion is best kept to myself as I dont want shintara to be a controversial website. Though I dont feel that what I did write was controversial as it was a write up about choice, not force on who to vote for. Sure there has been controversy on this site, and there more than likely will be more controversy over time, but I am going to try and keep any political and religious agenda to more politically based sites and leave it to media coverage. One final controversial statement before I end this subject, DONT VOTE GREENS - why? Well do you want to pay more taxes, I dont. The greenies outlook seems to be a taxing one, I bet they want to make a tax on the air we breathe! |
shintara.net is getting better At present I am writing code for a comments/feedback system for shintara, this will allow you to comment on what I write about, you can tell me that you hate it, love it or that you think I should hang my writing gloves up. The comments/feedback will only cover the blog/write up material that is posted here as often as I can - and I am aiming for weekly updates! If you havent noticed I have finished the contact page, so if you feel the need to get in contact with me you can fill the form in -or- click the 'Chat on #FreeBSD' link to the left, this will take you to the FreeBSD chat room which I spend alot of time procrastinating in. I am also working on a couple of the content pages, one of which is the links page, so if you want your link on here use the contact form to let me know :-) |

Name: Dave Still teething out some little problems with this, my main problem is called being lazy, its a hard one to overcome! Name: Watchdog Dood, ya getting closer hehe. Name: Dan Hehehe Bullbars Rock! I read the political editorial, Rock against howard, and I agree with your opinion on the matter. At the end of the day, the bottom line with any government is their performance in the marketplace. i.e. the economy. Australias inflation, interest rates and unemployment are all at their best levels seen in years, and Australias healthcare and PBS system is the envy of the world. Mark Latham got to power slinging mud at his opposition, then sooked like a little girl when the mud came back as bricks. He has neither the charisma of Hawke, the cunning of Keating or the loveability of Beazley, hes a goose and if he gets in this country is stuffed. I\'ve met John Howard, and as a golfer he makes a pretty good politician :) just my thoughts - the silencer :) Name: 3l337 f001 phpinfo(); Name: trying ?php phpinfo(); ? Name: Dave testing again OK I hope this doesnt work now... Name: Dave Thanks to Scott from darklemon for alerting me to the stripslashes function and a special thanks to 3l337 f001 for trying an exploit - it almost worked! Though I did get it to work not long after. There are still alot of bugs here but I will have to slowly fix them! Name: dave There are only a few tags that work Name: Dave Just a final check to see if this works.. I will hopefully do an update a little later today, I start work soon so I might be able to fit it in! |
