The streets were full of snow at Silberhornstrasse, cold, windy, but an amazing site for someone who hasnt seen snow before!

Finally an update! Things have been very crazy, hectic and in some regards surreal. I spent a couple weeks in Munich undertaking some training courses for work, this may equate to also training my right arm to hold one litre stiens of beer every evening in order to put myself to sleep to get over the jet lag that I suffered on my way in. When my jet lag finally subsided it was time to go home, typical isnt it. Munich was cold, well cold is an understatement, freezing and on some evenings it was down to -8 degrees celcius. It was the first time I have ever experienced snow and what an amazing site it was. When I finally arrived at Munich airport (16 hours from Sydney to Dubai and 6 hours from Dubai to Munich) I fumbled my way around and located the UBahn (the railway system) caught a train to Hauptbahnhof and another to Silberhornstrasse, the good old U2 line that I grew to love - aptly named the 'life saver' because if I got lost I could jump on a train and always find my way home via U2! My first experience of the cold was walking up the stairs at Silberhornstrasse walking around, getting lost, then not being able to feel my ears, unlocking my bag and frantically searching for my beanie!
Hofbrau House
The trip was definately one of the highlights of this year so far, I am not sure that anything will surpass it as 'the' highlight of the year. Snow, cold wind, rain, ice, beer, food and many memorable nights - I am fueled to travel the world and discover everything afar!
From -8 to +40 degrees celcius! |
Needless to say I spent every night in Rockhampton recovering from jet lag and trying to get over the flu that I had acquired midweek! Rockhampton is probably a lovely place, I just didnt get a chance to find any appreciation for it!
The 02 Atom Speaking of PDA phones, I recommend to never purchase a HP PDA/mobile phone. I did own the HP iPAQ 6365 PDA phone - one word sums this piece of electronic equipment up: NUGGET. If you see one going for cheap think of that word and then look away. Hmmm anyone interested in purchasing a second hand HP iPAQ 6365?
Slowly evolving... I have started working on a new look to this site, though its still quite a while away I have completed a template of how I want the site to look - now it just needs prettying up, coding to meet html standards, php coding to make life easier and a database backend coded to make life even more easier. Maybe this will be the 2010 project?
Hate Telstra? I have set the timer on for the next time the phone line here goes down. I need somewhere to vent my anger towards being ripped off by Telstra. Dan at vilesilencer is doing a good job at knocking Telstra off top rank for search engine queries - doesnt that give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing that us small time players can give the big teleco's a run for thier money!

Comments or Feedback anyone? Name: Dan Gotta love the Hofbrau. Delicious food, upbeat music, amazing atmosphere and those grand steins of beer. The friendliness of the people is also a nice change from Sydney. The funniest thing about the place is the per visit euro-fee to use the WC after they've just filled your bladder with several litres of intoxicating liquid. Top shelf! glad you enjoyed it mate, looking forward to seeing more pictures of Germany, especially since mine were taken in summer and I'm interested in the winter view. Name: Brad (Lord Watchdog) Bloody nice panoramic photo. Funny description of Helstra's service too. Their prices stink. My last phone bill was approx. $25.00 and $19.00 of that was line rental. I own the phone - God only knows what they charge for rental phones these days. Poor service, barbaric debt collection services (as per stories on Today Tonight where people who aren't even Telstra customers get a knock on the door from their nugget debt collectors), lousy response times at their helldesk and a decline in their Australian workforce. Added to people's line quality problems it sums up Telstra pretty well. :-) Name: Online Casino Hi I am a spammer, my IP address is: 66.97.174.196. |
