Nothing beats the Australian countryside at dusk, the fiery sunsets that turn the skies into a colourful array of orange, red, blue and purple hazes that are transported through the cloudy mazes of the horizon. Sunrise is fantastic, but the warmth of a hot day combined with the red haze that reflects of fluffy clouds creates not only a sensational horizon, but you can feel that horizon through the heat thats been generated from the days sun and you can hear the horizon as the birds, insects and other animals let out thier last sounds of the day. Sunset is always a winner for me.

New turf About a year and a half ago I started working at my current place of employment, the radiology department at Bankstown Hospital in Sydney. Its been quite a good year and a half working at the hospital, of course there have been ups and downs but most of the time work there has been to say the least, fun. Not very long ago, well to be more precise about two weeks ago the department got a new Computed Radiography (CR) system and things have been moving in a more forward direction in regards to technology - the department is what I class as 'very technologically backward', so getting this new CR system really means everything is leaping forward. The forward leap also includes my career within the hospital as my main goal was to incorporate my IT skills into this area when the department became fully digital. So all things are looking great for me, but I have decided that its time for me to move on!?! My new role is now with the company that supplied the CR system to us, so Friday the 3rd of December 2004 will signify my last day of being a radiographer - my new title is 'Applications Specialist'. Finally after all those years of study, all the hard yards I have put in to try and turn my career into something that not only pays a whole lot more, but returns the technical rewards that I have yearned for... I am here! Its going to feel really good knowing that my skills will finally be fully utilised. |
Big bad breakfast This morning - well its still 8:45am so its still morning - I had the desire for a diabetic rush. A large bowl of Fruity Bix accompanied by an equally large portion of chocolate flavoured Moove. Mind you the fruity bix and moove were combined to produce an extremely sweet and kind of exotic taste in my palate. Mmmm I could go another bowl! |
Gorn fishin Going fishing this afternoon, possibly with Dan from Vilesilencer, I mentioned a 6am pick up and there was a period of silence from the silencer, though this was before looking at the tide chart and realising that the am high tide was at 4:30am and I wasnt getting up that early. 5pm high tide means that if we arrive at the fishing spot at 3pm we should catch the rising tide and hopefully some fish! |
Panorama I have finally decided on the panoramic camera that I am going to purchase, the Horizon S3 Pro. My first preferance is and always will be the Noblex 135U, but at present I cant afford a $3000 camera (and to be honest it will be a while before I can afford one!). So the cheaper alternative is the Russian made Horizon model which boasts very simular features to the Noblex bar the name or I would say the quality. So early January expect to see some panoramic photos gracing shintara.net. |
Gorn camping This coming weekend Brad and myself are planning on a camping trip up North to either Myall Lakes or Karuah. For me this means more fishing, more photography and a weekend of complete rest and recreation. The only thing that I will be missing is a kayak, something that I am planning on purchasing in the new year, though with the time constraints of the new job I dont know how often I will be able to use it - or how often I will go away camping. This is one great advantage of working for the Government, you get to take as much time off as you want and almost whenever you want. But hey I am not complaining! |
Comments or Feedback anyone? Name: Dan Hehehe that 6am get up was never gonna happen :P Like the silhouette sunset. Looks spectacular. Get these panorama shots happening! Name: Brad Nice work with the commentary on that winner of a photo! It's as close to poetry as one can get :-) Looking forward to the weekend too because work is starting to annoy me. |
