One of my all time favourite photos, late afternoon in the Hunter Valley, I crept into a vineyard under a fence and went for a stroll. The sun was fading into the hills behind me and creating a warmth that made the place light up like into a magic flair. It was make or break and I didnt have a tripod so I set the exposure braced the trusty old 10D on my knee and prayed for the best.

Drink of the moment The Tamburlaine 2002 Botrytis which is made up of grapes from its Hunter Valley and Orange vineyards, comprises of Semillion/Sauvignon Blanc/Chardonnay grape varieties and is a sure winner in anyones books. Its not as viscous as some of the other Botrytis varieties and the tangy sweetness that rolls through your palate while being slurped leaves a sensation that is crisp and clean. The aftertaste is one that is sweet and slowly fades after a couple of minutes not leaving you with what I call a 'vino' like sensation on the palate. If your into your wine drinking and enjoy the odd desert wine this is definatly a winner, but dont search for it at your local bottle shop or liquor venue as its a cellar door only specimen. Visit tamburlaine for more information on purchasing a drop of this fantastic wine. |
If you haven't noticed... There have been some changes to shintara over the last week, there is now a custom error page, so if you click on the wrong link or type a URL wrong the error page will come up. The AAA Viking swag review is coming along, I have sent the swag back and pending on its return the review will be finished. I have decided to make a new reviews column which I am aiming to write unbiased reviews on products that I have bought or tested. But wait... theres more... I am also pondering on doing a write up on the vehicle that takes me places, the Toyota 80 Series Landcruiser. Included will be all the specs and accessories that I have on this bush beast, a few facts on where its been and plans for where it will go. |
All things Olympics Being forced to watch sport is not one of my favourite past times, well to be honest I hate sport and pretty much anything to do with it. Press play on a four wheel drive dvd or throw me out in the cold with my swag behind a fire under the stars and I will be your friend for life.
These two weeks that happen every two years seem to stop civilisation as we know it, everywhere I look its Olympics fever and I must admit that I have watched a few events over the last week, well OK I will narrow down the word few to a couple, that couple being a game of beach volley ball and a couple of female backstrokers swimming in a 50 metre pool. What was extremely disapointing about this whole fiasco is looking at the background, the stadium chairs are empty - no one in Athens is out there watching the games! A colleague at work suggested an answer to this situation that is chronically affecting the games, the Greeks are 'tight arses'. OCOGs have suggested giving tickets out freely, but will giving tickets away solve the problem? Consider this factor, free entry doesnt mean that people will freely come to the games, other factors such is food and refreshments cost money and judging from all major events that I have been to you cant bring your own! Will the Greeks smuggle suvlaki and citreous into the games, this next week will be the telling factor. GO AUSTRALIA!!! |
