Oberon is home to the Big Trout, Lake Oberon, Mayfield Gardens and also noteworthy; it’s main industries are farming, forestry and wood products! And a little known fact being that Oberon on winter solstice 2025 was the coldest town by daytime temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’d also like to make a bold statement, the bakery next to The Royal Hotel does the best pie in town!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Onto more important things, the continuation of Part 1<\/a> of this write up!<\/p>

Brad<\/a> and myself ended up backtracking to Oberon, more so due to the fact that he was wanting to purchase a step ladder to ease the burden of loading his newly purchased kayak onto the roof of his ute.<\/p><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brad was also keen on getting the yak out on its maiden voyage, so a suitable place to paddle needed to be found, onward to Burraga we pushed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strangely I didn’t take any pics of Brads maiden voyage and neither any of Burraga. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn’t until Brad had finished the paddle and packed the yak that we’d decided where to next. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abercrombie River National Park was another one of those places needing a tick next to its name, and guess what… <\/p>\n\n\n\n
