After a slow morning on the Eucumbene, mainly due to finding less crowdy spots I decided to pull the pin and head to Denison via the bakery at Adaminaby. Nothing brightens up a dull day better than a curry pie and apple turn over!<\/p>\n\n\n

While stuffing my face I got the text from Brad, he was already at Denison with camp set and kicking back. With my appetite satisfied I jumped in the Hilux and made my way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On arrival I opened up the canopy, aired out my waders and boots and contributed a couple of bags to the firewood stash. With a clear sun drenched afternoon on the cards the night was bound to be cold!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before long the shadows started drifting across the valley bringing with them a temperature drop, which didn’t seem to affect the roo’s at all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a quick feed and second serving of apple turnover, darkness descended and the fire was sparked. <\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You know it’s cold when inside your fridge is warmer than the ambient temperature. I’m glad to have a solid 12V system that can accomodate an electric blanket, it was needed!<\/p>\n\n\n

After the mandatory coffee the sun emerged from behind the morning mist to unveil another cracking day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The late morning and afternoon was spent fishing some very thrashed water, I only sighted one fish, countless anglers and some very ungentlemanly behaviour!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back at camp the drinks were cold, the toasties tasted superb and with fire roaring there was an eminent warmth while we listened to the howls of wild dogs in the backdrop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all that’s great about sitting around a campfire, the las night of any get away is always a sombre one knowing that the long trip back home is a sure thing the next day…<\/p>\n\n\n

Another critically cold morning greeted us, only to quickly warm up when the sun broke through the mist. <\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And sadly a packed truck marking the end of another adventure…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
