During multi-day camps I really enjoy that one day where the pace is relaxed. Monday January 5th was the designated chill day, that being a day where I wasn’t in a rush to head anywhere, time enough to stop off for a dogs eye, maybe do a spot of fishing and just relax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I left Three Mile Dam with sun blaring and headed toward Cabramurra via Dry Dam. The silhouettes and vistas boldly outlining the expansive distant views, making the sunburnt scalp all the worthwhile!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dry Dam is a place I’ve always wanted to stop by and wet a line, unfortunately for me it wasn’t the case for this visit with extra large march flies on the rampage it was a quick stop! <\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day, maybe one day…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I pressed on to Cabramurra hoping for a bustling small alpine township, what I quickly realised was Cabramurra is a Snowy Hydro town with pretty much nothing to offer the passer by! On to the next stop, Adaminaby for a dogs eye!<\/p>\n\n\n

With the pic focussing more on the cakes rather than pie, I can surmise that it all went down very well – not in one sitting though!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With stomach satisfied I decided to spend the rest of the late morning \/ early afternoon at Denison Campground, taking some time to have a well deserved shower. This is the reason I decided on 100L of water storage rather than a trundle under the Hilux’s tray, nothing better than not being concerned about running out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a couple of hours just lazing around I decided it was time to have a look at Providence Portal and do some fishing. The portal holds some great memories of large spawn run trout and red letter days catching trout after trout. Though my past few experiences haven’t been so great, I’ve missed some great fish! At this point in time the Eucumbene River becomes lake at the portal, and if history repeats itself the junction will move further downstream by fishing season close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I won’t discuss this fishing experience either, lets just leave it at the wind was howling and some strikes were missed!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On return to Denison I parked up, cooked some dinner and had dessert. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from the odd gust of wind, the weather was looking great until…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With not much choice apart from packing and setting myself up in the roof top tent, the cold front put an end to any plans of sitting by the camp fire sipping a beverage!<\/p>\n\n\n\nContinue to Snowies solo part 4, saving the best for last<\/a>\n\n\n\n
