One year on, the tragedy that brought our nation to a standstill, and for all of us brought the reality of the events of September 11 2001 closer to our shores.

The Sadness that Evolved
October 12 2002 didnt affect me to the personal extent that it has affected many Australians - I didnt lose a loved one or someone that I knew to the evil act that unfolded in the Sari Club. To those that have lost a loved one or a friend my deepest condolences and may the memories of them live cherished inside your hearts.

For the purpotraitors of such a callace and uncalled for attack on innocent people from around the world I hope that you realise that what you have done is wrong, you have not only caused anguish and pain for those that have suffered from the bombings, but you have in turn ruined your country. Bali was Indonesia's tourist haven, the generation of income through tourism helped support many lives of the locals. What do the people who relied on the tourism trade do for a living now? Through the hate of a few people the lives of thousands have been affected in the wrong way.

Was the end effect worth it? The sadness and hatred that has come from it will last in the minds of many people around the world. Its the minority group of extremists that are ruining it for people in the larger picture, its sad to see that existance is heading this way.

More Photographic Gear
Being the budding photographer that I am, I am going to save up for some new camera gear that will expand my photographic experience (and hopefully bring more great photos to this site).

The first item is a prime lens, a canon 50mm f2.5 standard/macro. I can use this lens for a lot of applications such as the standard use of a 50mm lens which is considered to be a real aspect 1:1 lens - so what you see is what you get, there is no zooming, magnification or wide angle - its an as is lens. But the great advantage to this is that it will offer a macro side to it which means that I will be able to take close ups of insects, plants and flowers.

The second item is something I came across yesterday, a panoramic camera which unfortunatly will be in film format. This will enable me to take those wide panoramic landscape photographs - something I have been wanting to do for a while.

Thats all for now - till next time stay cool and take care.
